Continuous Site Monitoring

Setting Up Continuous Site Monitoring and Delta Alerts

Compliance is not a one-time cleanup; it is ongoing hygiene. Content teams add new images to WordPress and CMS platforms daily. PicDefense’s Site Monitoring utilizes a multi-worker crawler architecture to automatically scan your domain every 7 days, detecting compliance drift before it turns into a demand letter.

Understanding Deduplication and Billing

You are never double-billed for images that persist week-over-week.

Our Compliance Overview badge clearly separates your unique images from duplicates. Because the system tracks the unique image hash, duplicate instances (even those discovered in new weekly crawls) simply inherit the license status of the primary image and do not consume additional API credits. You are only charged for genuinely unique, newly discovered URLs.

Step-by-Step Configuration

1

The Opt-In Workflow

Site Monitoring is not toggled on by default when you subscribe. You must intentionally enroll a domain.

Navigate to the Sites dashboard and click Add Site.

The system will perform an initial deep-crawl to establish your baseline inventory.

Once you review the baseline results and exclude any unwanted systemic assets, your site transitions to “monitoring” status.

2

The Weekly Recrawl & Delta Alerts

Once a site is actively monitored, our automated workers take over.

The Cycle: Every 7 days, the crawler re-indexes your domain.

The Delta: The system compares the new crawl against your existing baseline hashes. Any freshly discovered image is flagged in your dashboard with the status of “new”.

Email Alerts: When the scan finishes, our SocketLabs integration dispatches a status email. If new assets are detected, you will receive a “Review Now” alert detailing exactly how many unknown images were published that week.
