Frequently asked questions

Are these image tools free?

Yes. The metadata viewer, watermark detector, text reader, logo, face and landmark detectors, image labels and SafeSearch run free with no account, a few checks per day. The full copyright risk check and the reverse image search need a free account and use pay-as-you-go credits.

Which tool should I start with?

If you want to know who owns a photo, start with the Image Metadata Viewer: it reads the copyright notice, creator and licensor embedded in the file. If you suspect a stock photo, run the Watermark Detector. For a full answer on where an image came from and how risky it is, run the copyright risk check.

Do you keep the images I check?

No. Each image is downloaded or uploaded for the check, analyzed, and deleted right after. We don't keep the image or the result.

Can I check a whole website instead of one image?

Yes. The image copyright checker crawls every page of a site, finds every image, and runs these checks on each one, with a report you can work through.

Results are automated signals to support your own review. They are not a legal opinion and do not establish whether an image is free of third-party rights. For decisions about copyright, trademark or publicity rights, consult qualified legal counsel.
