There are guidelines for “Fair Use”, but “Fair Use” is open to interpretation and that leaves room for risk if you decide to use a copyrighted image. Unless you absolutely need to, it might be best to avoid copyrighted images completely. Unless you have permission or a license to use a copyrighted image, it might not be worth the hassle if you potentially get any copyright infringement penalties.
